The psychic disruptor left by the Federation, this legendary weapon, can disrupt the mental network of the Zerg and is the key to turning the tide of the war. General Dugar assigned the important task of searching and guarding it to Lieutenant Duran, and our UED commandos needed to remove obstacles to the mission, that is, to clear out the stray zerg nests scattered around Tarsonis.

Early detection and defense

There is clearly displayed intelligence that there are four zerg broods entrenched around the base. From nearest to far, they are Grendel, Jormungandr, Tiamat, and Garm. During the initial stage of our troop build-up, Grendel and Jormungandr had already sent out the first wave of raiding troops in an attempt to disrupt our rhythm. Those scattered zerg were easily repelled by the marines and bunkers left behind at the base, and did not pose a real threat.

At the same time, I recalled my observations during the landing and sent an infantry team to search behind the mountain. They quickly found the abundant crystal mines and high-energy gas mines, which provided extremely critical resource guarantees for the subsequent protracted operations. A stable rear area and sufficient resources are the foundation for achieving this clearing mission.

Eradicate two recent threats

The closest to Grendel's nest, its terrain is relatively flat, and it is the first target to be attacked. I used a steady and steady tactical approach, using siege tanks as the core point, and combined them with marines and medics to form a mixed force to advance. The infantry did not advance rashly, but stood firmly around the tank to eliminate any springtails or hydralisks that tried to get close.

Jörmungandr's nest is entrenched on a cliff high ground, making it difficult for the army to directly attack from above. I mobilized the previously produced science ships and Viking fighter planes to gain air superiority. The science ships used the defense matrix to protect themselves and continued to hover over the insect nest, providing vision for the siege tanks below and guiding their artillery fire to accurately cover the high ground, gradually disintegrating Jörmungandr's defenses.

The ferocious counterattack of the insect swarm

The nests of Tiamat and Garm further away were enraged by the successive losses of the two nests. They no longer defended passively, and sent a mixed force composed of powerful Ultralisks and Guardians to actively launch a fierce attack on the area we controlled. The thick carapace of the Ultralisks required concentrated firepower to penetrate, and the long-range corrosive bile of the Guardians put great pressure on the infantry line.

Once faced with the threat from the air, I immediately adjusted my production strategy and issued instructions for the heavy factory to go all out to produce Goliath armed robots. The Hellfire missiles equipped by these bipedal mechas are very powerful in the sky. Supplemented by the existing Viking fighters, a reliable air defense network has been built step by step to control and contain the guardians' wanton violence, thus giving the ground troops enough time to carry out confrontational actions against the Thunder Beasts.

A flanking attack opens up the situation

Based on the conditions shown in the satellite scanning images, it can be seen that there is an area in the mountains east of Tiamat's mother hive that has the characteristic of being adjacent to its main hive. This area is an ideal artillery position. In response, I decided to carry out a bold flank airdrop operation. Four transport planes loaded with infantry and Goliaths flew in a roundabout way over the controlled Jörmungandr nest, and finally successfully dropped the troops on the predetermined high ground.

This raid caught the insect swarm unprepared and by surprise. Although one Defiler spat out a swarm of Dark Bees that partially obscured the view, the airdrop troops had successfully gained a foothold. The siege tank was quickly set up, and from an unexpected angle on the flank, it launched an extremely deadly bombardment towards the core building of Tiamat's mother nest.

Final battle and mission accomplished

The last Garm nest gathered all the remaining air power, and groups of guardians rushed towards it like dark clouds. Under such circumstances, I issued an order to have all Goliath and Viking fighter planes move forward to launch a tragic and unusual attrition struggle against the insect swarm air force. At the same time, the mechanized ground troops launched a powerful frontal attack under the fire cover provided by the tanks.

The warriors walked through the ruins of the Tyranid city that bore traces of history over the years, and then quickly ran into the last defensive line of the insect nest. After paying a certain price, we finally cleaned up all the buildings and units built by the zerg. As the surrounding threatening things were completely cleared away, Lieutenant Duran, who was in charge, was able to use all his strength to carry out the search work, and successfully found the extremely critical device with psychic interference function. The mission performed by the UED achieved a stage of victory and results.
